Every penny supports good causes

Lions clubs help local communities in a number of ways with every penny collected in the British Isles – and every cent in Ireland – going direct to good causes.

Not one penny/cent is spent on administration as Lions club running costs are funded by members. Just ask any Lions member how we make every penny/cent count.

Your money makes a real difference

From fun-filled community activities and collecting food donations, to running fund-raising events and selling pre-loved possessions, Lions clubs are busy at the heart of local communities.

We raise money in hundreds of creative and traditional ways to make a real difference to the lives of ordinary people who need our help.

Local needs: donate | serve | volunteer

Being a member of Lions Clubs International is about meeting local needs. Working closely with local communities throughout the British Isles and Ireland, Lions clubs make financial donations to help local individuals, groups or good causes.

Lions clubs also serve local needs in a flexible way by responding promptly and doing good deeds, large or small. As volunteers, members of Lions clubs make things happen in local communities that would not otherwise take place.

Lions clubs may provide personal help lasting a minute or two, or mobilise hundreds of members as volunteers at local or regional events on an annual basis. By supporting air ambulance crews, managing flood damage repairs, and helping out at local community events in steel-capped shoes, Lions clubs can be relied upon at the heart of the action.

Community: retail | shops | stalls | online

Many Lions clubs are literally at the heart of the community running permanent retail shops on the high street. We help people who have something to recycle – from furniture to books, art to toys, clothes to sports-equipment. Thanks to their donations, our community shops offer great value goods to those looking for a bargain or needing to make their money go further. And the money we raise goes to help local causes.

Lions clubs are also experts at the ‘pop-up’ retail outlet – from car boot and garage sales to market stalls, Summer fetes to Christmas fayres. We make and bake, run raffles and tombolas, organise charity auctions and jumble sales. And we’re not just skilled in the traditional ways of raising funds. More and more Lions clubs are maximising income through online channels.
